EV charger installation.
Charging an electric car from a normal power point works, slowly, and it loads a circuit that was never meant to run flat out overnight. A dedicated wall charger on its own circuit charges several times faster and is the safe way to do it, especially in a rural shed or carport with long cable runs.

In short
EV charger installation puts a wall charger on its own circuit with the right protection, so an electric car charges several times faster than from a power point. We install single and three-phase home chargers across Dungog, Gresford and the Hunter.

What the job involves
- A dedicated circuit sized for the charger, with its own protection
- Mounting and connecting the charger in the garage, carport or shed
- Checking the switchboard and supply capacity first
- Load management where the supply is tight
When you need it
- An EV on order, or already in the driveway on a trickle charge
- A charger supplied with the car that needs a licensed install
- A plug-in hybrid you'd like to charge faster
What changes the price
- Single or three-phase charger
- Distance from the board to the charger
- Whether the board needs work to carry it
- The charger you choose
What NSW requires
- EV chargers must be on a dedicated circuit with the right protection, which for many units is more than a standard safety switch
- The installation is certified like any other new circuit
- Kayden doesn't do solar or battery installs; if you have solar, the charger can still be installed and set up to use it
What Kayden needs from you to quote
- The charger model if you have one, and the car
- A photo of the switchboard and where you'd like the charger
Questions about ev charger installation
Can I charge my EV from a normal power point?
You can, slowly, but it runs a household circuit at full load for hours. A dedicated wall charger on its own circuit is faster and the safer long-term setup.
Do I need three-phase for an EV charger?
No. Most home chargers are single-phase. Three-phase chargers are faster and suit properties that already have three-phase supply.
Can the charger run off my solar?
Many chargers can be set to charge from solar. Kayden installs the charger and its circuit. He doesn't install solar panels or batteries.
